ONLINE Oct. 31, 2008 - Super U is proud to announce "The Tragic Death Of Spineless Toady" by Victor Couwenbergh of Departure Productions has won $1,500 in its "The Horror!" contest. The short, chosen by Super U members, will also have the chance to be broadcast on Super Channel.

The short film “The Tragic Death Of Spineless Toady” was shot during the 2008 Ottawa Zombie Walk. "I felt that having a bunch of people dressed up as zombies was too good an opportunity to pass up, and I figured I'd have just enough time to shoot and edit it and enter it into the contest." said Couwenbergh while discussing his inspiration for the film.

The Ottawa-based writer and director, is now a two time Super U contest winner. His first Super U win came in the "Homage To - Film Noir" contest with the film "The Stakeout". When asked what he was going to do with his winnings Couwenbergh stated "like last time, I will share it with those that helped make the film, and donate the rest to the FealGood Foundation for 9/11 first responders."
