Super U is proud to announce "Auto Erotica" by Kenneth Sherman, produced with funding from Bravo!FACT (Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent) and the Canada Council for the Arts (Dance on Screen Program), has won $2,500 in its "Out There" contest. The short, chosen by a celebrity judging panel, will also have the chance to be broadcast on Super Channel.
The short film "Auto Erotica” began as an ironic parody of how sexualized car advertising is, but became more complicated when the filmmaker saw the first shots and thought, "Why is this turning me on a bit?".
Judges for the contest included Gwen Haworth, Founder of Shapeshifter Films, Producer / Director of "She's A Boy I Knew"; Adamo Ruggiero, Actor, “Marco Del Rossi” on "Degrassi: The Next Generation"; Rob Trinh and Luvia Peterson of Out TV's "Hot Pink Shorts".
When asked about the winning film "Auto Erotica" one judge said, "I enjoyed this short because it starts off as if it is a car commercial with the suit and tie professional. However in the end, the fantasy and dance component made it for masculine gays. It answered the question, what guys really think about when they see the car of their dreams."
Super U is the online venue to watch the latest Canadian short films. Viewers enjoy high quality content, qualified by the viewers themselves.
